PUAAViC has made a remarkable effort over the past two decades to bring together Peradeniya alumni and their families residing in Victoria. As a further initiative to engage younger generations in meaningful, enjoyable, and community-focused activities, we established Waves — a music group that supports our key events throughout the year.

Waves is much more than a music band; it is a vibrant community within our community. Members from diverse age groups come together to share their talents, inspire one another, and contribute to a common purpose.

Our inaugural year has been an outstanding success. We formed a talented music band comprising nine members and provided entertainment at three major community events. Waves has also expanded to include a wonderful ladies’ dance group and a kids’ dance group, all drawn from within our community.

One of the most rewarding outcomes has been the enthusiastic response from volunteers who have joined effortlessly to support our events. Their involvement has strengthened friendships, fostered new connections, and further reinforced the bonds within our community.

As we continue to grow, we look forward to enjoying this journey together and creating many more memorable experiences in the years ahead.
